The MikroTik RB5009UG+S+IN is MikroTik's compact powerhouse desktop router at USD 219.00 — quad-core ARMv8 at up to 1,400 MHz, Marvell Amethyst switch chip, 7× GbE + 1× 2.5G + 1× SFP+ 10G, all ports connected to the switch chip via a 10 Gbps full-duplex line to the CPU. MikroTik's own benchmark: "almost double the performance in configurations with heavy CPU loads" compared to previous products in the same form factor. The case itself acts as a massive heatsink — CPU and switch chip are mounted on the bottom of the board, flush against the aluminium enclosure — enabling fully passive cooling with zero fan noise at 220 × 125 × 22 mm.

The RB5009UG+S+IN offers three independent power inputs simultaneously available: 802.3af/at PoE-in on Ethernet port 1, DC jack (24–57V), and a 2-pin terminal (5.08mm, 24–57V) on the side of the unit — critical for deployments where power redundancy or flexible sourcing is required. 1 GB DDR4 RAM and 1 GB NAND storage with RouterOS v7 License 5 provides full firewall, NAT, BGP, OSPF, WireGuard, VLAN, and queue management capability for SMB and home lab deployments. USB 3.0 type A with USB Power Reset and 1.5A output enables LTE modem failover or USB storage attachment.

With the K-79 rackmount kit (sold separately), four RB5009UG+S+IN routers mount in a single 1U rack space — 40 routers in a single MikroTik SR-10U 10U desktop rack.
