The MikroTik cAP XL ac is a ceiling-mount dual-band 802.11ac access point at USD 99.00 — MikroTik's own description: "the ceiling AP on steroids." The XL variant adds a larger high-gain antenna and a built-in reflector versus the standard cAP, increasing covered area by up to 100%.
**Built-in reflector + high-gain antenna — 100% larger coverage area**
The cAP XL ac's larger antenna and built-in reflector direct signal downward in a 360° pattern from the ceiling — eliminating the signal absorption problems caused by large TV sets, metal cubicle walls, and dense office furniture that floor-level or wall-mounted APs face. 6 dBi at 2.4 GHz and 5.5 dBi at 5 GHz with dual-chain (2× 2) radios on both bands.
**AC1200 dual-band — 300 Mbps + 867 Mbps**
802.11b/g/n on 2.4 GHz (300 Mbps max) and 802.11a/n/ac on 5 GHz (867 Mbps max) — AC1200 aggregate. Supports repeater mode for wireless mesh extension without additional hardware.
**Dual PoE — in on Ether1, out on Ether2**
802.3af/at PoE-in on Ether1 (18–57V) powers the unit from any standard PoE switch. Passive PoE-out on Ether2 (up to 57V, 500 mA) powers a downstream IP camera, IoT sensor, or secondary AP without a separate PoE injector.
