MikroTik nRayAIM-DH1 Scope Alignment Mount nRAY

The MikroTik nRayAIM-DH1 is a precision alignment and aiming attachment for the Wireless Wire nRAY 60 GHz point-to-point link — allowing installers to attach a scope of their choice directly to the nRAY for accurate beam alignment during installation. At 60 GHz, precise antenna aiming is not optional: even minor angular misalignment causes significant signal degradation. The nRayAIM-DH1 turns nRAY installation from an approximation exercise into a precision operation. At USD 5.00, it is the most cost-effective way to ensure every nRAY link is aligned correctly on the first attempt.

Description

The MikroTik nRayAIM-DH1 exists because 60 GHz wireless is unforgiving about antenna alignment. The Wireless Wire nRAY operates in the 60 GHz mmWave band — a frequency where the beam is extremely narrow and the signal degrades sharply with even small angular errors. Unlike 5 GHz links where a few degrees of misalignment is recoverable, a 60 GHz nRAY link needs to be pointed accurately. In professional installations, antenna alignment is not a one-time task — it is the difference between a link that performs at specification and one that underperforms and generates support tickets.

The nRayAIM-DH1 solves this by adding a scope mount to the nRAY. The attachment allows the installer to fit a scope of their choice — a rifle scope, a red-dot sight, a laser bore-sighter, or any compatible optic — directly onto the nRAY body, using the optic's crosshair or reticle as a precision aiming reference for beam alignment. This is the same principle used in professional satellite dish alignment and microwave backhaul installation — a visual reference point aligned with the antenna's boresight gives the installer a reliable, repeatable target to aim at during the alignment process.

The practical installation benefit is real. Without a scope, aligning a 60 GHz link relies on signal strength readings on a laptop or phone app, which introduces feedback delay and requires moving back and forth between the device and the readout. With a scope mounted on the nRayAIM-DH1, the installer can aim the nRAY at the remote end visually, lock the mount in position at optical alignment, and then fine-tune from signal readings — starting from a near-correct position rather than scanning from scratch. MikroTik's own wording confirms both outcomes: "even greater precision and easier installation."

The nRayAIM-DH1 is a mechanical accessory only — no electronics, no RF components, no power required. The scope is not included — the nRayAIM-DH1 provides the attachment point for a scope of the installer's choice. Confirm the scope interface standard (rail type, thread spec) from the product brochure or your MikroTik distributor before selecting a compatible optic.

At USD 5.00 per unit, the nRayAIM-DH1 is a standard include alongside every nRAY kit purchase. For WISPs, tower crews, and IT teams deploying nRAY links across multiple sites, the nRayAIM-DH1 should be in every installation kit.
