MikroTik RBGPOE-CON-HP 48V–24V Gigabit PoE Converter

The MikroTik RBGPOE-CON-HP is a rugged Gigabit PoE voltage converter that steps 48V PoE input (Passive PoE, Telecom PoE, 802.3af, or 802.3at — any 42–57V source) down to 24V Passive PoE output at up to 1A (24W) — powering any 8–30V RouterBOARD device from a 48V PoE infrastructure without a separate power adapter or injector. Two Gigabit Ethernet ports, integrated heatsink in a rugged metallic case, wall-mountable, shielded Ethernet support, and USD 30.00. The correct solution when your PoE switch delivers 48V and your RouterBOARD device needs 24V.

Description

The MikroTik RBGPOE-CON-HP solves a specific and common infrastructure mismatch: enterprise and carrier-grade PoE switches deliver 48V (802.3af/at) or Telecom/Passive 48V — but many MikroTik RouterBOARD devices require 24V Passive PoE input. Without the RBGPOE-CON-HP, this means running a separate power adapter to the RouterBOARD device, which means a separate power run, a separate outlet, and a more complex installation. With the RBGPOE-CON-HP in the cable run, the 48V PoE from the switch powers the converter, and the converter delivers 24V Passive PoE out to the RouterBOARD — one cable from the switch does both data and power for the entire run.

The input compatibility is the breadth of this product's usefulness. The RBGPOE-CON-HP accepts any 42–57V PoE source — 802.3af (15.4W budget), 802.3at/PoE+ (30W budget), Passive 48V, and Telecom 48V DC. This means it works with virtually every enterprise PoE switch on the market today, every MikroTik PoE switch with 48V output, and every Telco-standard 48V DC PoE infrastructure. If the source is 48V and it is on an Ethernet cable, the RBGPOE-CON-HP will take power from it.

The output is 24V Passive PoE at up to 1A — 24W maximum. This covers the power budget of the majority of MikroTik RouterBOARD devices that accept 8–30V Passive PoE input, including compact access points, outdoor CPEs, and embedded RouterBOARD platforms. The Gigabit Ethernet pass-through ensures that data rates are not the bottleneck — 10/100/1000 Mbps is preserved across both ports.

**Important power budget note:** When powered by an 802.3af-compliant PSE (not 802.3at), total output power must not exceed **12.95W** — this is a hard limit imposed by the 802.3af standard's power budget, not by the converter itself. If the RouterBOARD device being powered requires more than 12.95W, the input source must be 802.3at (PoE+) or a Passive/Telecom 48V source with sufficient current capacity.

The rugged metallic case with integrated heatsink handles the thermal demands of continuous DC-DC step-down conversion without fan noise or moving parts. Wall-mounting holes in the case allow permanent fixed installation at the cable termination point — on a wall, inside a cabinet, or on a mounting bracket alongside the powered device. The shielded Ethernet connector design, with shield pins inside the connectors, supports grounded shielded cable through the converter — an important detail for outdoor runs, industrial environments, and any installation where EMI or ground loop protection is required.

Key features:

- Converts 48V PoE input → 24V Passive PoE output — powers 8–30V RouterBOARD devices from any 48V PoE infrastructure

- Universal 48V input — accepts Passive PoE, Telecom PoE, 802.3af, and 802.3at (42–57V input range)

- 24V Passive PoE output — 1A, 24W max (12.95W max when input is 802.3af only)

- 2× 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet ports — full Gigabit data pass-through

- Rugged metallic case with integrated heatsink — continuous operation, no fan, no moving parts

- Wall-mountable — mounting holes for permanent fixed installation

- Shielded Ethernet support — shield pins inside connectors, grounding at converter or at either end device

- MTBF: ~100,000 hours at 25°C

- Certified CE, RoHS

- Suggested price: USD 30.00

**Important note:** The RBGPOE-CON-HP is a PoE voltage converter — the input must be a PoE-powered Ethernet cable (42–57V). It does not add PoE to a non-PoE Ethernet source. The output is 24V Passive PoE — compatible with MikroTik RouterBOARD devices rated 8–30V Passive PoE input. Confirm the input voltage range of the target RouterBOARD device before deployment.
